Methodological Evaluation of Community Health Centre Systems in Uganda Using Panel Data for Cost-Effectiveness Assessment,

Abstract

Community health centres in Uganda have been established to improve healthcare access and quality. Panel data estimation techniques were employed to assess costs and outcomes, incorporating robust standard errors to account for potential biases. The analysis revealed that there was a significant positive correlation between the number of health centres established and improved patient satisfaction levels (p < 0.05). The study suggests that increasing the number of community health centres can enhance healthcare accessibility and quality, with cost-effectiveness. Further research should focus on operational efficiency improvements to maximise resource allocation in these systems. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p<em>i)=\beta</em>0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
