Abstract

The Sahel region of Ghana is experiencing significant climate variability, affecting human security through various socio-economic and environmental challenges. An action research study employing participatory methods with local stakeholders to gather qualitative data on climate impacts and community responses. Findings indicate a significant decline (30%) in agricultural productivity due to erratic rainfall patterns, impacting food security in the region. Climate change exacerbates existing vulnerabilities, particularly among marginalized communities. Enhanced community resilience strategies are needed. Investment in climate-resilient farming techniques and support for early warning systems should be prioritised by policymakers.
