Entrepreneurship Ecosystems and Innovation Hubs in Niger: A Survey Research Study

Entrepreneurship ecosystems and innovation hubs are critical for fostering economic growth in developing countries like Niger. However, little is known about their specific impact and development within this context. The research employs a survey method with quantitative data collection from 300 purposively selected entrepreneurs and stakeholders across various regions of Niger. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics. A significant proportion (45%) of respondents identified the lack of financial support as a major barrier to entrepreneurship, highlighting the need for targeted investment initiatives. The findings underscore the importance of strengthening existing innovation hubs and supporting local entrepreneurs through tailored interventions. Policy makers should prioritise funding for innovative incubators and provide mentorship programmes targeting underrepresented sectors such as agriculture and renewable energy.
