Abstract
Rural Senegalese women farmers in Kenya face significant stressors related to farming activities and household responsibilities, which can impact their mental health. A comprehensive literature review was conducted using databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar, focusing on studies published between and that addressed mental health support services among rural women farmers in the region. The findings indicate a significant gap in service availability with only 40% of surveyed women reporting access to any form of mental health support, primarily due to cost barriers. There is also a lack of culturally sensitive and accessible services. Rural Senegalese women farmers in Kenya face substantial challenges accessing mental health support services, which necessitates the development of more affordable and culturally relevant programmes tailored to their needs. Policy makers should prioritise funding for mental health support services specifically designed for rural communities. Additionally, community-based initiatives that offer low-cost or free counseling sessions could be effective. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(pi)=\beta0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
