Adoption Dynamics of Digital Health Records in Urban Youth Hospitals within Democratic Republic of Congo Context

Urban youth hospitals in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are increasingly adopting digital health records (DHRs) to enhance patient care and administrative efficiency. The study will employ a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative surveys (N=100) with qualitative interviews (n=20) to explore hospital staff perspectives and experiences with DHRs. Initial survey data indicate that 65% of respondents reported significant improvements in patient record accuracy, while 40% noted enhanced communication between healthcare providers. The mixed-methods approach highlights the multifaceted benefits of DHRs in urban youth hospitals, despite challenges such as technical glitches and staff training needs. Investment in ongoing staff training programmes and technological upgrades is recommended to maximise the potential benefits of DHRs.
