Methodological Evaluation of District Hospitals Systems in Ethiopia Using Panel Data for Clinical Outcomes Measurement

Abstract
District hospitals in Ethiopia play a crucial role in healthcare delivery, yet their performance varies significantly across regions. Panel data was utilised to assess the efficacy of district hospitals. The Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) estimation technique was employed to account for potential endogeneity issues in the analysis. The GMM estimates indicate a positive correlation between hospital investment and patient recovery rates, suggesting that adequate financial support can significantly enhance clinical outcomes. Despite challenges such as resource constraints, this study provides evidence-based recommendations for district hospital management to improve service delivery efficiency. Investment in human resources training programmes and infrastructure upgrades are recommended alongside the implementation of performance monitoring systems. Treatment effect was estimated with $\text{logit}(p<em>i)=\beta</em>0+\beta^\top X_i$, and uncertainty reported using confidence-interval based inference.
