Abstract

Traditional medicine plays a significant role in healthcare systems across Africa, including Morocco. However, its integration within contemporary healthcare frameworks remains understudied. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining a survey with qualitative interviews to gather data from Moroccan citizens. The survey revealed that approximately 65% of respondents reported using traditional medicine alongside modern healthcare. However, only 20% believed in the efficacy of traditional remedies. While traditional medicine is widely used by Moroccans, there is a significant gap between its perceived effectiveness and actual usage patterns. Public health campaigns should be developed to raise awareness about the benefits of integrating traditional medicine into modern healthcare systems.
