Abstract

The Nairobi slums present a unique context for examining digital financial services (DFS) as they intersect with women's entrepreneurship. A mixed-methods approach combining quantitative data from surveys and qualitative insights from interviews to assess the effectiveness of DFS in supporting Nairobi slum entrepreneurs. The framework identifies key factors for successful integration of DFS into entrepreneurial activities, particularly in underserved urban areas. Policy makers should prioritise DFS integration programmes that target women entrepreneurs and provide additional capacity-building support to enhance their utilization of digital financial solutions.
