Abstract

In East Africa, particularly in Mozambique, there has been a growing interest in innovation hubs as facilitators of entrepreneurship ecosystems. However, these initiatives vary significantly across different regions and contexts. The research employs a thematic analysis approach using semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry experts. Data collection was conducted through online platforms and face-to-face meetings in selected regions. Findings indicate that while innovation hubs have successfully fostered entrepreneurial activities, there is a notable disparity in their effectiveness across different geographical areas of Mozambique. The study highlights the importance of tailored strategies to address regional disparities within the development of entrepreneurship ecosystems facilitated by innovation hubs. Recommendations include the need for increased investment in infrastructure and human capital, as well as policy reforms that support a more inclusive entrepreneurial landscape across Mozambique.
