Agricultural cooperatives in Ghana have been pivotal for rural economic development, but women's leadership within these organizations remains underexplored. An online survey was conducted among cooperative members and leaders across various regions. Respondents were selected using a stratified random sampling method, ensuring representation from different demographic groups. Survey results indicated that cooperatives with higher proportions of women leaders exhibited a significant boost in economic growth by an average of 12% compared to those without such leadership representation. Women's leadership significantly enhances the financial and operational success of agricultural cooperatives, contributing positively to overall economic development. Government policies should prioritise supporting women’s participation in cooperative leadership roles to foster sustainable rural economies.
