Abstract

The Sahel region of Chad is facing increasing climate variability and extreme weather events, posing significant challenges to human security. An interdisciplinary approach combining qualitative interviews with local communities and quantitative data from government agencies was employed. Climate-induced displacement has reached alarming proportions, with over 30% of affected households experiencing significant disruptions to their livelihoods in recent years. The analysis highlights the urgent need for comprehensive climate adaptation strategies that integrate socio-economic resilience and community engagement. Policy recommendations include enhanced early warning systems, improved access to credit and market opportunities, and increased investment in drought-resistant crops.
