Abstract

Community-based health surveillance programmes have been implemented in various African countries to combat infectious diseases such as malaria. The analysis relies on existing data from Kenyan health records and community surveys conducted between and . A significant proportion (75%) of surveyed households reported a decrease in malaria cases following the implementation of these programmes, with an average reduction of 40% in malaria prevalence. Community-based health surveillance programmes have shown promise in reducing malaria incidence in Kenyan communities, contributing to improved public health outcomes. Policymakers should prioritise funding and resource allocation for continued implementation of these community-based health surveillance programmes.
