Abstract
Youth identity in urban Liberia is a critical but understudied aspect of political participation. A qualitative approach using focus group discussions and interviews with young Liberians aged 18-30 in urban areas. Youth identify strongly with traditional cultural practices, which correlates with higher levels of civic engagement compared to those who do not. Policy recommendations include incorporating youth-focused cultural activities into existing political education programmes and promoting inclusive leadership training. Develop culturally sensitive youth-led political initiatives; integrate traditional knowledge in civic education frameworks; provide mentorship opportunities for young leaders.
