Abstract
Soil quality metrics are crucial in understanding sustainable agriculture practices among Rwandan farmers. A systematic review of existing literature on soil quality metrics and sustainable agriculture in Rwanda will be conducted, followed by an analysis of farmer survey data collected through participatory rural appraisal methods. The theoretical framework posits that soil quality metrics can serve as robust indicators for promoting sustainable agriculture in Rwanda. Investment in soil health monitoring and education programmes targeting farmers is recommended to increase adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.
