Abstract

Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers in Nairobi, Kenya, are pivotal for supporting low-income families with young children. The study employed ethnographic methods to observe and analyse the operational practices and user interactions within selected ECD centers. Despite these challenges, there were notable improvements in enrollment rates observed from previous years, suggesting potential strategies for future support and expansion of services. Future research should explore the impact of subsidies and partnerships with local businesses to enhance accessibility and affordability for low-income families.
