Abstract

Community-based healthcare access programmes have been implemented in Nairobi slums to address the high prevalence of tuberculosis (TB), particularly among vulnerable populations such as migrants and low-income earners. The study will employ qualitative methods including semi-structured interviews and focus groups with healthcare providers, patients, and community leaders to gather insights into the effectiveness of current programmes. The theoretical framework developed will provide policymakers and practitioners with evidence-based guidelines for designing and evaluating future TB prevention programmes in Nairobi slums. Programmes should integrate community health workers into their structures to ensure greater patient support and compliance, leading to more effective TB prevention strategies.
