Urbanization, Informal Settlements, and Social Welfare in Central African Republic: A Scholarly Perspective

Abstract
Urbanization in Central African Republic (CAR) has accelerated rapidly over recent decades, driven by rural-to-urban migration and conflict-induced displacement. The analysis is based on secondary data from government reports, academic studies, and interviews with local community leaders. The existing social welfare system is ill-equipped to support the growing informal settlement sector, leading to widespread poverty and inequality among urban residents. Enhanced collaboration between government agencies, civil society organizations, and international donors is recommended to improve access to social services in informal areas.
