Abstract

Community-based healthcare delivery programmes (CBHDPs) have been implemented in various settings to improve access and utilization of maternal health services in underserved populations. A survival analysis approach was employed to assess the impact of CBHDPs on maternal health services utilization and associated survival outcomes. Findings indicated that the introduction of CBHDPs significantly increased the proportion of women utilising antenatal care by 25%, with a notable reduction in maternal mortality rates. The analysis suggests that CBHDPs play a crucial role in enhancing access to and utilization of maternal health services, thereby improving survival outcomes for mothers in urban slums. Policy recommendations include the expansion of CBHDP coverage and integration with existing healthcare systems to further optimise service delivery and utilization.
