Urbanization, Informal Settlements, and Social Welfare: A Theoretical Framework in Cameroonian Cities

Abstract

Urbanization in Cameroon has led to significant growth in informal settlements, posing challenges for social welfare provision. Theoretical analysis and literature review focusing on existing policies and studies related to urbanization and social welfare in Cameroon. A theoretical framework is proposed that integrates urban planning, community engagement, and social policy to enhance welfare services in these areas. Recommendation for policymakers includes developing targeted interventions and infrastructure improvements in informal settlements.
