Abstract

Afrofuturism is a contemporary cultural movement that explores African futures through science fiction and speculative narratives. This brief employs a qualitative analysis approach to explore Afrofuturist works and their implications for Togolese society and economy. Themes of environmental sustainability and technological advancement are prominent in Afrofuturist works about Togo, indicating growing concerns over climate change and digital transformation. Afrofuturism offers a valuable framework for envisioning and discussing possible futures in Togolese contexts, particularly regarding ecological resilience and digital inclusion. Policy makers should consider integrating Afrofuturist insights into strategic planning to address both traditional and emerging challenges facing the country.
