Health Systems Resilience in Epidemic-Faced African Settings: A Case Study from Djibouti

Abstract
Health systems across Africa have faced significant challenges in managing epidemics due to resource constraints, inadequate infrastructure, and limited preparedness. The study employed participatory action research involving key stakeholders including healthcare workers, community leaders, and government officials. Data collection methods included interviews, focus group discussions, and document review. A significant proportion (75%) of participants reported challenges in maintaining essential services during the epidemic due to supply chain disruptions. Health system resilience can be enhanced through improved coordination between stakeholders and investment in infrastructure and logistics. Develop a comprehensive health insurance scheme covering both public and private sectors, and establish a dedicated emergency response fund. epidemic management, health systems resilience, participatory action research, Djibouti
