Abstract

Maternal mortality remains a significant public health issue in South Sudan, with community health workers (CHWs) playing a critical role in maternal health interventions. A comprehensive review of existing literature and empirical studies on CHW training and maternal health outcomes will be conducted, followed by developing a conceptual model to guide future evaluations. The theoretical framework will provide a robust foundation for assessing the efficacy of CHW training initiatives on maternal health outcomes in South Sudan and similar contexts. Future evaluations should incorporate feedback from CHWs to refine training programmes, emphasising continuous learning and skill development opportunities.
