Abstract
The Sahel region in West Africa is facing significant climate challenges, with Cape Verde serving as a case study due to its geographical proximity and socio-economic vulnerability. The approach will be conceptual rather than empirical, drawing from existing literature on climate change impacts and human security frameworks. The theoretical framework elucidates the complex interplay between climate change and human security in Cape Verde’s Sahel region, highlighting the importance of integrated adaptation plans. Developing early warning systems and strengthening community resilience are recommended to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate variability on human security.
