Adoption Rates and Health Metrics Improvement of Mobile Health Monitoring Apps among Diabetic Patients in Côte d'Ivoire: An Analysis

Abstract

Mobile health monitoring apps have emerged as a promising tool for managing chronic conditions such as diabetes. In Côte d'Ivoire, where access to healthcare is limited and resources are scarce, mobile health technologies offer an innovative solution. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from app usage logs with qualitative interviews to understand user perceptions and experiences. A preliminary analysis of the data indicates that approximately 35% of diabetic patients in Côte d'Ivoire use mobile health monitoring apps regularly. However, there is significant variability across different regions and socio-economic groups. Mobile health monitoring apps show promise for improving diabetes management outcomes but face challenges related to user engagement and accessibility issues. Healthcare providers should consider integrating these technologies into existing care pathways to enhance patient support systems. Policy makers are encouraged to develop supportive policies that address digital literacy gaps and ensure equitable access.
