Abstract
Historical Foundations of Governance Challenges in Nigeria A survey research approach was employed to gather insights from a diverse set of stakeholders, including former political figures, historians, and current policymakers. The analysis revealed that colonial legacies significantly influenced the development of governance structures, with over 70% of respondents citing the impact of British rule on Nigerian politics. This study underscores the importance of understanding historical contexts in contemporary African governance debates. Future research should focus on integrating historical analysis into policy-making processes to inform more effective and sustainable governance reforms.
