Language Policies and Educational Outcomes in Namibia: A Multilingual Perspective
Abstract
Language policies in Namibia reflect its multilingual nature, with multiple indigenous languages alongside English and German. The analysis is based on existing literature and empirical data from Namibian education systems. The review highlights significant disparities in academic performance between students whose primary language of instruction aligns with the school's official language policy and those who do not. Language policies significantly influence educational success, particularly among multilingual populations like Namibia’s.
