Impact Evaluation of School-Based Health Education Programmes on Adolescent Reproductive Health Awareness in Ghanaian Schools: Six Months Before and After Implementation
Abstract
Adolescent reproductive health (ARH) awareness is crucial for reducing risky behaviors among school-aged children in Ghanaian schools. A pre-post design was employed to assess changes before and after programme implementation. A mixed-method approach combined quantitative surveys with qualitative interviews for comprehensive understanding. Post-intervention surveys showed a significant increase of 30% (95% CI: 18-42%) in ARH knowledge among adolescents, indicating the effectiveness of the educational programmes. School-based health education significantly enhances adolescent reproductive health awareness, warranting continuous and expanded programme implementation. Continue with school-based health education initiatives while expanding access to resources for marginalized communities. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
