Abstract

The study examines historical roots in Ugandan governance to understand contemporary challenges. A mixed methods approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative surveys to analyse governance practices over time. Interviews revealed a significant theme of corruption in public services, affecting 30% of respondents' daily interactions. Historical governance structures have deeply influenced current challenges, necessitating reforms that address systemic issues. Implementing transparent and accountable mechanisms is essential to combat pervasive corruption and improve service delivery.
