Entrepreneurship Ecosystems and Innovation Hubs in Ethiopian Context: A Comparative Study
Abstract
Entrepreneurship ecosystems and innovation hubs are crucial for fostering economic growth in emerging economies such as Ethiopia. These systems provide a framework for entrepreneurs to develop innovative products and services, thereby contributing to sustainable development. A comparative analysis will be conducted using secondary data from government reports, academic journals, and interviews with stakeholders. The study employs a mixed-methods approach to gather comprehensive insights into the functioning of these systems. There is a notable trend towards increased investment in innovation hubs within Ethiopia's entrepreneurial landscape, particularly in technology-driven sectors such as renewable energy and biotechnology. The research reveals that while there are promising developments, significant improvements are needed to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of these systems, especially in terms of access to funding and market integration for local enterprises. Policy makers should prioritise initiatives aimed at reducing barriers to entry for entrepreneurs and increasing support for innovation hubs. Additionally, fostering collaboration between hubs can lead to more impactful and innovative solutions. Entrepreneurship Ecosystems, Innovation Hubs, Ethiopia, East Africa, Sustainable Development
