Abstract

The Sahel region is facing severe climate change impacts, exacerbating human security challenges in Togo. A qualitative study involving interviews with stakeholders and literature review to understand the interplay between climate and security dynamics. Climate change has intensified droughts, leading to increased food insecurity and displacement of populations across Sahelian regions, including Togo. Policy makers in Togo need to integrate climate resilience into their human security strategies to mitigate these impacts effectively. Develop early warning systems for climate-induced shocks, enhance agricultural productivity through climate-smart practices, and promote community-based adaptation initiatives.
