Gender and Power Dynamics in Nigerian Political Transitions: A Comparative Analysis

Abstract
Recent political transitions in Nigeria have highlighted gender dynamics within power structures, influencing policy outcomes and public perception. Qualitative content analysis of political speeches and interviews from government officials to assess the frequency and explicitness of gender references. Speeches in the post-transition period showed a significant increase (p<0.05) in mentions of gender equality compared to pre-transition, indicating evolving attitudes towards inclusivity. The analysis reveals a shift in political discourse from exclusionary language towards more inclusive and equitable representations of gender roles.
