Abstract

Field research stations in Rwanda are crucial for advancing physical science knowledge, but their cost-effectiveness remains under scrutiny. A DiD approach will be employed to assess the impact of these stations on scientific output, with robust statistical methods applied. Future studies should consider extending this methodological framework across other regions to enhance the evaluation of similar systems. Investment decisions for new or expanded research stations can be informed by these findings, leading to more cost-effective and impactful scientific endeavors. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
