Abstract

Youth substance abuse is a significant public health issue in Senegal, with Dakar being one of the major urban centers where such programmes are implemented. Participants were recruited from two prominent youth rehabilitation centres. Data collection included self-reported surveys, clinical assessments, and follow-up interviews conducted at six months and one year post-programme completion. Among the participants, 45% achieved full recovery by twelve months, with significant variations observed across different treatment modalities. The study highlights the need for tailored interventions to enhance long-term success rates in youth substance abuse programmes. Future research should focus on developing and evaluating integrated care models that include family support systems and mental health services.
