Translating African Literature for Global Audiences in Egypt: Challenges and Strategies

Abstract
Translating African literature into global languages is a complex process that involves understanding cultural nuances and linguistic differences. A comparative analysis of translation projects conducted in Egypt will be used to identify common themes and strategies employed by translators. Translators often face difficulties in preserving the original cultural context and maintaining the emotional depth of the text when translating between languages with vastly different literary traditions. While challenges persist, this study identifies several effective strategies that can be used to improve translation quality and reader engagement across cultures. Publishers should prioritise training programmes for translators focusing on cultural sensitivity and linguistic adaptation techniques specific to Egyptian audiences.
