Preserving Digital Cultural Heritage in Resource-Limited Eswatini Environments: An Ethnographic Study
Abstract
Digital cultural heritage in Eswatini faces unique challenges due to limited resources such as internet connectivity and digital literacy among the population. Conducted ethnographic research involving interviews, observations, and participatory action research in Eswatini's rural areas. Participants reported using community radio as a primary means of accessing online content despite poor internet access. Community radio plays a pivotal role in bridging the digital divide for cultural heritage preservation in resource-limited settings. Support initiatives that integrate local language and traditional media into digital platforms to enhance accessibility and engagement with cultural resources.
