Empowering Youth Through Vocational Training Workshops in Ghanaian Urban Spaces: A Theoretical Framework
Abstract
Vocational training workshops are recognised as effective tools for empowering youth in Ghanaian urban settings by enhancing their employability and socio-economic status. This study employs qualitative research methods to explore existing literature and theoretical perspectives on youth empowerment through vocational training, emphasising the importance of contextual specificity and participant engagement. The theoretical framework underscores the critical role of tailored vocational training workshops in empowering youth, particularly those from urban Niger environments. It highlights the need for comprehensive support systems to ensure sustained engagement and skill acquisition. Recommendations include the establishment of community partnerships for resource mobilization, regular participant feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement, and integration of cultural sensitivity into workshop curricula to enhance relevance and acceptance.
