Abstract

Cultural psychology explores how cultural contexts shape psychological processes, including criminal behaviour in various societies. In Nigeria, forensic psychology focuses on understanding and predicting criminal behaviour through a combination of psychological theories, legal frameworks, and sociocultural factors. No empirical data will be presented; instead, we propose a conceptual model based on existing literature and theoretical constructs relevant to both cultural psychology and forensic psychology. This framework provides a foundation for future research by integrating cultural psychology with forensic psychology to better understand and predict criminal behaviour in Nigerian contexts. Future studies should focus on empirical validation of this theoretical model through longitudinal data collection, particularly examining how socio-economic disparities affect criminal conduct over time.
