Abstract

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) aims to enhance economic integration in Africa by eliminating tariffs and promoting trade among its member states. Qualitative research methods were employed to gather data through semi-structured interviews with key industry stakeholders and government officials. Interviews revealed that while the AfCFTA has facilitated greater market access for Seychelles' exports, challenges such as infrastructure limitations hindered full benefits realization. The AfCFTA's impact on Seychelles’ supply chains is promising but requires supportive policies to address existing barriers. Seychelles should prioritise investments in logistics and infrastructure to maximise the trade opportunities offered by AfCFTA.
