Abstract

Sexual harassment remains a significant issue in Nigerian university settings, affecting students' mental health and academic performance. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys and focus groups to assess student engagement and perceived changes in behaviour post-intervention. Among participants who completed the survey (n = 350), a significant proportion (78%) reported increased awareness of sexual harassment norms, with behavioural change themes emerging around more respectful interactions and support-seeking behaviors. The intervention programme demonstrated promising effects on both participation rates and observed behavioural changes among Nigerian university students. Future research should explore the long-term sustainability of these changes and potential interventions for broader populations. sexual harassment, student engagement, behaviour change, university setting
