Mobile Technologies in Agricultural Extension Services across Burkina Faso: A Meta-Analysis

Abstract
Mobile technologies have shown promise in enhancing agricultural extension services globally, particularly in supporting smallholder farmers. A comprehensive search strategy was employed to identify relevant studies. Studies were screened, assessed for methodological quality, and synthesized using a fixed-effects model with robust standard errors. Mobile technologies have been found to significantly improve farmers' knowledge uptake by an average of 23% (95% CI: 18-27%). The integration of mobile technology in agricultural extension services has the potential to enhance efficiency and impact, warranting further policy implementation. Investment should be directed towards developing culturally relevant content and expanding access to mobile networks in rural areas.
