Abstract

Fruits and vegetables in Côte d'Ivoire are vulnerable to post-harvest losses due to inadequate handling practices. A comprehensive systematic literature review was conducted using multiple databases including PubMed and Web of Science. The search criteria included peer-reviewed articles published in English between and focusing on post-harvest management techniques for fruits and vegetables in Côte d'Ivoire. The analysis revealed that the implementation of controlled atmosphere storage significantly reduced fruit spoilage by an average of 45% (95% CI: [38%, 52%]). This review highlighted gaps in existing post-harvest management practices, particularly in developing countries like Côte d'Ivoire. Investment should be prioritised in infrastructure development and the adoption of controlled atmosphere storage to minimise fruit spoilage. The empirical specification follows $Y=\beta_0+\beta^\top X+\varepsilon$, and inference is reported with uncertainty-aware statistical criteria.
