Abstract
The Central African Republic (CAR) faces significant development challenges, including low levels of entrepreneurship and innovation in its economy. A qualitative approach was employed, focusing on interviews with key stakeholders from government agencies, private sector representatives, and civil society organizations. Key themes identified include the critical role of mentorship programmes in supporting startups and the importance of access to finance for small businesses. A notable finding is that 40% of entrepreneurs reported improved business outcomes after engaging with local innovation hubs. The analysis suggests that targeted policy interventions, such as financial support and capacity-building initiatives, are essential for strengthening entrepreneurship ecosystems in CAR. Policy recommendations include the creation of a government-led advisory council to oversee the development of an integrated entrepreneurship strategy and increased funding for innovation hubs to enhance their impact.
