Abstract
Traditional governance structures in Southern Africa have a long history of influence on contemporary democratic processes and practices. Not applicable as this is a theoretical framework paper. This framework provides a conceptual foundation for understanding the complex interplay between tradition and democracy in Southern Africa, offering insights into policy development. Further research should focus on empirical case studies to validate theoretical propositions and explore specific governance dynamics in different regions of Southern Africa.
