Abstract

The Nile Basin is a region facing significant water scarcity challenges that threaten regional stability and sustainable development. A mixed-methods research approach combining qualitative interviews with stakeholders, quantitative data analysis on water usage patterns, and comparative case studies from other regions facing similar challenges. Findings indicate that equitable distribution mechanisms can reduce tensions between agricultural and urban water users by up to 40% in the region. Integrated approaches are essential for fostering cooperation among diverse stakeholders in managing shared Nile Basin resources effectively. Implementing adaptive management strategies, enhancing public participation in decision-making processes, and promoting cross-border collaboration are recommended solutions.
