Communities Leading Water Sanitation Revolutions in Kenyan Villages: A Decade of Success and Challenges

Abstract

Communities in Kenyan villages have initiated successful water sanitation projects over a decade, addressing critical needs and challenges. An analysis of qualitative data from interviews with local leaders and observations at project sites in ten selected villages. Community-led initiatives have achieved substantial progress but face persistent obstacles requiring sustained support and innovative solutions. Investment in community capacity building and long-term sustainability strategies is essential for continued success and widespread impact.
