Abstract

The Sahel region in Tunisia is facing significant environmental challenges due to climate change, impacting human security. A qualitative approach was employed through interviews with local community leaders and government officials. There is a notable increase in desertification rates, leading to reduced agricultural productivity and affecting up to 40% of the population's livelihoods. Climate change significantly contributes to human insecurity by disrupting traditional coping mechanisms and exacerbating existing vulnerabilities. Enhanced early warning systems and community-based adaptation strategies are recommended to mitigate climate-induced risks.
