Microfinance's Role in Enhancing Financial Sustainability and Profitability of Cairo's Informal Small Businesses

Abstract

Microfinance interventions have shown promise in supporting informal small businesses globally, yet their specific impact on Cairo's informal sector remains underexplored. A qualitative approach will be employed to analyse existing literature and case studies focusing on Cairo's informal sector, emphasising the role of microfinance in fostering financial resilience among small enterprises. The theoretical framework underscores the importance of tailored microfinance programmes that address both immediate needs and long-term growth strategies for Cairo's informal sector. Policy makers should consider implementing targeted microfinance initiatives with monitoring mechanisms to ensure effective support for small businesses within this sector.
