Government Support Policies and Livelihood Rebuilding After Natural Disasters in South Sudanese Cities: An Economic Impact Assessment in Mali 2007
Abstract
This study examines government support policies aimed at rebuilding livelihoods in South Sudanese cities following natural disasters and evaluates their economic impact and sustainability. A mixed-method approach combining qualitative interviews with quantitative analysis of available data to evaluate the impact of support policies on livelihoods and economic recovery. The findings indicate a significant positive correlation between government support measures and increased employment rates by 20% within six months post-disaster, highlighting the effectiveness of targeted aid in restoring local economies. Government support plays a crucial role in fostering sustainable livelihoods after natural disasters. This study supports evidence-based policies for future disaster response efforts. Recommendation is to implement continuous monitoring and evaluation systems to adapt support strategies based on ongoing feedback from beneficiaries and economic indicators.
