Abstract

The informal economy in Niger encompasses an estimated 40% of its workforce, highlighting the need for a robust theoretical framework to address labour law dynamics and workers' rights. A systematic review of existing literature on labour law, combined with qualitative analysis of key informants from the informal sector in Niger. This theoretical framework underscores the importance of integrating existing legal frameworks with innovative community-driven initiatives for equitable worker protection. Policy makers should prioritise legislative reform and strengthen partnerships between government agencies and informal sector organizations to improve labour law compliance.
