Abstract
Community-based forest management (CBFM) programmes in South Sudan's smallholder farmers are pivotal for combating deforestation and promoting sustainable land use. Quantitative analysis and case study approach were employed, focusing on existing data from South Sudan's agricultural and forestry departments. The findings underscore the necessity for continued support and investment in CBCM initiatives to enhance carbon sequestration and preserve ecosystems. Policy makers should prioritise funding for monitoring and evaluation of CBCM programmes to ensure they remain effective and sustainable.
